I was born and raised in Ashland, Oregon. Ever since I got my first camera at the age of 11, my life has been centered around photography. After having worked in and managed camera stores, photo labs, darkrooms, and studios over the last 25 years, I opened Sterling Images. At first Sterling Images was a digital photo lab. But, over the years it grew and evolved into Southern Oregon's premier Digital Imaging, Photoshop and Digital Camera training business.
With my love of teaching, along with my insights into the ways people think, understand and learn new technologies, I has developed a unique and highly effective method of teaching. I offer private training, classes, lectures, seminars and online training in the areas of Digital Cameras, Digital Imaging, Photography, Photoshop, and Lightroom (and a few more things). I teach 8-12 classes a term at Southern Oregon University's Community Education, SOU Olli and the Ashland Parks and Recreation Dept. I've written two books on Adobe Photoshop Elements and one on using your digital camera. I plan to write many more books and create training videos to accompany the books in the future.
